The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate has urged all citizens who own the commonly known “Al-Shamousa” heater, in all its types, to cease its use immediately and not to ignite it indoors under any circumstances
The spokesperson emphasized that this warning should be taken very seriously following evidence that the suffocation incidents that occurred in the past 24 hours were associated with the same type of heater.
He also confirmed that the relevant authorities are examining samples of all types of these heaters, and will announce the results once the analysis is completed.
He also confirmed that joint teams have started to inventory these heaters in shops and factories that manufacture them to prevent their sale until the lab results are obtained.
