1237 billion dinars worth of Muscats trade exports over 11 months

Khaberni - The number of certificates of origin issued by the Muscat Chamber of Commerce during the last 11 months for exporting goods and merchandise to Arab and foreign countries has risen by 5.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to statistical data from the Chamber, the number of certificates of origin issued by Muscat commerce during the past 11 months increased to 38,275 certificates compared to 36,325 certificates for the same period last year.
The data showed that the value of the certificates of origin issued by the Chamber during the last 11 months decreased by 3 percent, falling to 1.237 billion dinars, compared to 1.275 billion dinars for the same period of the previous year.
It indicated that Iraq topped the list of countries importing the most from the kingdom in terms of the value of certificates of origin during the same period, with approximately 540 million dinars for 3,207 certificates, followed by Saudi Arabia with 100 million dinars, and 9,625 certificates.
Egypt followed with a value of 86.2 million dinars for 917 certificates, then Switzerland with a value of 86.1 million dinars for 25 certificates, and Syria with about 76 million dinars for 3,265 certificates, these countries are among the top five in terms of number and value.
In terms of product types, the value of the chamber's exports during the last 11 months of foreign products (goods of foreign origin) was valued at 606 million dinars, industrial products about 232 million dinars, agricultural products 173 million dinars, and Arab products (goods of Arab origin) 103 million dinars, with the rest going to other products.
It is noted that the certificate of origin is a document used in international trade to certify that the goods in a particular shipment have been produced, manufactured, or processed in a specific country and is used by customs to determine the eligibility of goods for identifying their tariff classification and to verify the country of origin of those goods.
It is also mentioned that the Muscat Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural and animal products, raw natural resources, re-exported foreign goods, and foreign goods purchased from the local market under specified conditions.
Certificates of origin are also issued for Jordanian industrial products as requested by the exporter, based on the original factory invoice certified by an industrial chamber and an original and duly authenticated certificate of origin issued by an industrial chamber proving that the merchandise is of Jordanian origin, pursuant to Article (29) of the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce Regulation No. (45) for the year 2009 and the instructions for issuing certificates of origin for the year 2013.
