Khaberni - The Turkish Ministry of Defense denied the accuracy of the news circulating about Ankara's readiness to execute new military operations inside Syrian territory, asserting that what is published in this context is incorrect and not based on any data.
The spokesperson for the Turkish defense, Zeki Akterk, stated at the weekly press conference that his country continues to monitor the situation in northern Syria, however, it is not preparing for new operations, emphasizing that the lack of stability in Syria serves external parties, according to "Syria TV".
Akterk added that "there are countries encouraging QSD to avoid integration and to continue bearing arms with the aim to prolong the state of instability within Syria", considering "QSD's" time-buying attempts are futile and will not result in any outcome.
The Turkish official pointed out that QSD "continues its activities instead of integrating into the Syrian army, which harms the efforts to achieve security and stability", affirming that integration should occur on an individual basis and not through independent units.
In this context, the Turkish Minister of Defense stated that "the transitional phase that the region is undergoing necessitates the end of the role of all armed groups, especially the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the People’s Protection Units, and the Syrian Democratic Forces."
He mentioned that some recent international statements and analyses "reveal attempts to use QSD as a tool for reengineering the geopolitical balances", warning that this "constitutes a threat not only to Syria but also to Turkey."
He confirmed that Ankara continues its close coordination with Damascus and Baghdad in this file, and "will not allow any armed structure, whatever its name, to threaten Turkish security or the stability of the region."
