Khaberni - The rainy season has a positive impact on the agricultural sector compared to last year, where farmers have noticed a significant improvement in the rainy season. Amid hopes for the continuation of rain depressions in the coming days, which have a direct positive impact on the agricultural sector and livestock.
Assistant Secretary-General for Agricultural Guidance at the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Bakr Al-Blawneh, confirmed that the ministry is continually monitoring farmers through its staff spread across agricultural directorates, to provide necessary guidance on agricultural operations and weather forecasts, with prompt intervention when needed to minimize any negative impacts on crops.
The Ministry also continues to communicate with farmers through social media and organized methods to deliver warnings in case of heavy rains.
He added that the recommendations covered all farmers such as livestock breeders, beekeepers, crop and fruit tree farmers, and others, the most important of which is to stay away from watercourses to avoid damages from floods.
Al-Blawneh pointed out that the ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Meteorology, is in the final stages of operating the agricultural inspection and guidance platform, which aims to develop an early warning system and transform warnings into text messages that go directly to farmers' phones in risk-prone areas or deliver messages related to any new matters concerning them.
He confirmed that electronic holdings have been developed, where data for about 70,000 farmers has been entered into the system, and any authenticated farmer can access the platform to benefit from the services and technical information from the Ministry of Agriculture, ensuring the exploration of information from its official source.
He pointed out the coordination with the Meteorology Department continuously to ensure accurate information reaches the farmers, and secure a rapid response to any developments in the weather situation.
