Khaberni - A source close to French holders Paris Saint-Germain told AFP on Thursday that the team bus was pelted with stones in front of their hotel in Bilbao overnight, after their match against host Athletic in the sixth round of the UEFA Champions League football competition.
The source explained that the bus was stationary and had no passengers at the time, and media reports mentioned that two people were arrested.
Paris Saint-Germain players and technical staff managed to head to the city's airport on Thursday morning to return to Paris.
The source added that the club is considering filing a complaint regarding the incident. Paris Saint-Germain, the European champion, was held to a goalless draw by Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday, a result that kept the Parisian team in third place in the combined group league comprising 36 teams, while Bilbao occupies the 28th spot.
