Khaberni - U.S. customs revenues decreased in November for the first time since President Donald Trump began implementing his historic decisions, according to new data from the U.S. Treasury Department.
The U.S. Treasury Department's monthly statement for November showed customs duties collected amounted to 30.76 billion dollars, compared to about 31.35 billion dollars in October.
The revenue decrease followed Trump's decision not to add any new customs duties during the last month.
The U.S. trade deficit unexpectedly dropped in September to its lowest level since 2020, according to late government data released on Thursday, with imports registering a slight increase.
The total trade deficit declined by 10.9% in September to 52.8 billion dollars, the lowest level since mid-2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This coincided with a 3% increase in exports to 289.3 billion dollars, while imports rose slightly by 0.6%, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
