Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing issued a tender to implement the re-lighting works of the Amman Developmental Passage (Street 100) relying on solar energy, as part of its plan aimed at increasing the efficiency of lighting networks on vital roads and expanding the use of renewable energy solutions.
The tender includes the rehabilitation and operation of the lighting network on the passage, and the supply and installation of modern lighting units powered by solar energy, according to the approved technical specifications and conditions in the tender documents.
The ministry invited contractors classified in the fields of electricity, mechanics, and renewable energy to submit their offers electronically through the Jordanian Electronic Procurement System (JONEPS), and to review the tender documents in detail on the website of the Government Tenders Directorate and the same electronic system.
It should be noted that the lighting network on the Amman Developmental Passage has been subjected to tampering and theft operations over the past years, which led to repeated outages of lighting on parts of the road, creating a continuous burden on the ministry's staff and resources.
