Khaberni - National football team coach Jamal Salami confirmed that "the human composition of the team is very important," noting that his selections "vary according to physical evaluation and technical integration for each match."
Salami said during the press conference preceding the match against Iraq in the quarterfinals of the Arab Cup that the team will miss the services of player Salim Obeid due to a "deep" injury that will keep him out of tomorrow's match.
He added: "We have a great ambition to win. The Iraqi team is a strong team and does not give away gifts, so we must be at the highest level of seriousness. We achieved three positive results, developed our performance, and received great appreciation from the followers, but arrogance and overconfidence are completely unacceptable."
Salami confirmed that he had held a meeting with the players in preparation for the match, adding: "This match is an evaluation for us. If we succeed in winning, the team is capable of maintaining the same mentality and personality. We are fully aware of the magnitude of the responsibility."
On his part, the team's goalkeeper Nour Bani Atieh said: "We are soldiers in the service of the nation, and we trust our ability to continue to deliver a strong performance. We played three tough matches, and now we have a significant match against Iraq."
About the implications of the last match between Egypt and Jordan, Salami emphasized that the team has learned lessons from past mistakes, and that focus is concentrated on presenting a better image in the next round.
