Khaberni - Khaberni - wrote former minister Sabri Erbihat:
I woke this morning to the news of the departure of one of the most virtuous, civil, and refined children of Tafilah . Ahmed Mohammed Al-Sahharin was one of the first children of Tafilah sent to Saudi Arabia in the early sixties of the last century to study Arabic language in its universities to return as a teacher of Arabic in the Tafilah Girls' Secondary School and to begin a long educational journey, spending most of his years as a professor and supervisor, a role model and guide, making sure to perform his roles with fidelity, passion, and devotion.
I got to know the educator, brother, and friend Ahmed Al-Sahharin in the late sixties of the last century when my older brother Ahmed Abu Aqla managed a store at the entrance to the city of Tafilah, choosing a location in the warehouses owned by Hajj Mohammed Al-Sahharin, father of Professor Ahmed, and I was impressed by the towering stature of this handsome young man and heard of his virtue, acuity, and seriousness before he transferred from the village school of Ayma to the Tafilah Boys Secondary School in 1970.
At the beginning of the seventies, Ahmed Al-Sahharin was one of the most elegant teachers in behavior, dress, and speech and was a prominent member of the elite intellectuals from the children of Tafilah and their teachers and guests working in education, judiciary, and administration.
Back then, everyone was under the microscope of observations of the locals and a topic of our conversations as students and youth, interested in everything they did and we listened to their words and perhaps some of us were keen to gain their approval and appreciation.
Ahmed Al-Sahharin was a friend to the history teacher Mohammed Al-Dhuwaib who later became a member of the House of Representatives, a minister, and a member of the Senate and had a good relationship with the late educator Fuad Al-Auran and Arabic language teacher Ahmed Al-Amri and Ali Al-Hilool. They would take an evening stroll through the long street of Tafilah, walking calmly to the triangle of Ayma and back
Although Ahmed Al-Sahharin never taught me, I still felt his closeness, impact, and presence as a personality, everyone from our generation felt his closeness, care, brotherhood, and nobility. Professor Al-Sahharin married the noble educator Salwa Saleh Al-Hawamdeh daughter of one of the notables of Tafilah and sister of the late Engineer Mahmoud Al-Hawamdeh and they had Khaled and his siblings to maintainKhaled reputation" " and influence of one of the most significant men and leaders in education, embodying the conservative Jordanian identity in all its meanings and manifestations.
Today, with the departure of Ahmed Al-Sahharin, the educator, the human, and the role model, Tafilah loses one of the builders who gave to their country, their people, their homeland, and the generation much love, generosity, without favor, demand, or noise.
Mercy on your soul, oh man who I only knew as smiling, friendly, and known for only what inspires pride, appreciation, and pride, and our heartfelt condolences to your family, and to Tafilah and Jordan and to all the good people who lost in your departure a mast and a source of giving, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.
