Khaberni - German Hansi Flick, the technical director at Barcelona, spoke about his player Lamine Yamal's behavior after he was substituted in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League last Tuesday.
Barcelona defeated Frankfurt with two goals to one, within the sixth round matches of the group stage in the UEFA Champions League.
Flick substituted Yamal in the 89th minute of the match and brought in Rony Bardghji instead. It appeared that Lamine Yamal was unhappy with the coach's decision as he showed clear signs of dissatisfaction while leaving the field and while heading towards the bench; he left with an angry face and gestures that reflected his discontent.
Yamal received a yellow card against Frankfurt, which was his third in the group stage; this will prevent him from participating in the match against Slavia Prague on January 21st.
After the match, when Flick was asked about what happened with Lamine Yamal during the substitution, he jokingly answered: "Next time he'll sit on the bench... it's not a problem for me."
Then the German coach added: "He was certainly a bit frustrated, but he received a yellow card, and we needed some freshness and new players. No problem, I understand the situation because I was a player myself. Maybe I wouldn't have done what Lamine did, but everyone wants to play, and he thinks he can play 100 minutes. He's young, and it's a natural attitude. I was a player, I understand that and accept it."
