Khaberni - Artist Helmy Abdel Baqi commented on the sudden decision issued by artist Mostafa Kamel, the head of the musicians' syndicate, referring him to an investigation, in a session before legal affairs on the upcoming Monday, describing the matter as a genuine attempt to oust him from the syndicate board.
The first agent of the musicians' syndicate confirmed that the decision to refer him for investigation, based on events that date back to about a year and a half ago, "Why has it returned today?"... He appeared in a recorded video that he posted on his personal "Facebook" account, addressing the members of the general assembly, saying: "The law stipulates that only the members of the general assembly have the decision to exclude any council member or not," confirming his complete readiness to appear before the legal affairs committee for investigation next Monday.
He also denounced the policies of the head within the musicians' syndicate, saying: "There was a state of muzzling, and any member who objects to something is accused of grandstanding and conspiracy, and is often threatened with exclusion," adding: "Every word I say is true, and I have evidence to prove my words, and I had previously asked Mostafa Kamel to swear on the Quran if I was lying... I am only defending myself and my dignity, and I have no ambitions for anything."
In his speech, he pointed to Mostafa Kamel's repeated attempts to remove him from the syndicate, saying: "Investigation then investigation then exclusion, this is injustice and I will never be silent," noting that this happened several years ago, where artist Eman El-Bahr Darwish was excluded from the syndicate, saying: "He was excluded, resorted to the judiciary, obtained a verdict invalidating the results of the internal investigations, and a verdict was issued in his favor to return to the syndicate, but the decision has not been executed yet."
Abdel Baqi mentioned that he plans to organize a press conference soon, to reveal all the disputed facts with evidence and documents, saying: "I am sticking to my right and will go to the end whatever the outcome, I am only eager to prove my innocence from everything said against me."

It is mentioned that Helmy Abdel Baqi filed a report to the Public Prosecutor against Mostafa Kamel, last November, accusing him of slander, saying at the time: "Members of the general assembly of the musicians' syndicate, I hesitated a lot in presenting this video, but I am a very spontaneous man and talk about very small points. Mostafa accused me of grandstanding just because I objected to a decision he was planning to take regarding the health care file, and accuses me of wanting to destroy the syndicate and bring back corruption to the place again."
He added: "I was shocked by an audio recording in which I was insulted and cursed, because I am a solid and not cowardly person, I stood with you during the elections and was with you in tours in all the provinces of Egypt, what is the reason for the sudden change? Some whisper to you that I want to appear eager for the position of the head, and unfortunately, you dealt with those claims credulously, I have a respectable family, and when they hear this talk about me it is regretful... I will not let go of my right, if I let go of my right I better die, the days between us, and the days will reveal everything."
