Khaberni - Orange Jordan organized a series of events under the umbrella "Our abilities are different, but our potentials are certain," in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. These events reflected the company’s commitment to enhancing inclusion, innovation, and making a positive impact in the community, starting with renaming its network to INCLUSION.
Orange continued these festivities by launching a digital solutions hackathon in the tourism sector for persons with disabilities, which coincided with the World Tourism Day and attracted notable participation with 115 entries.
The hackathon kicked off with an intensive training camp that helped participants develop their ideas and turn them into practical, actionable projects. This was followed by a presentation session in front of a specialized judging panel that evaluated the leading digital solutions utilizing the latest technologies to empower and integrate persons with disabilities into the tourism sector. This was before announcing the winning teams in a ceremony held under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin, in appreciation of their creativity and ability to provide practical solutions that enhance access and availability of digital and tourist services for all.
It also launched the "Capable" program in partnership with Abler company, aimed at empowering disabled youth and equipping them with the necessary professional skills to confidently and competently enter the job market. The program offered comprehensive opportunities that included specialized training, career counseling sessions, and individual support, thereby solidifying the company's commitment to economically and professionally empower them.
The initiatives also included sponsoring a cultural event for visually impaired persons, featuring interactive contests on general disability awareness, alongside showcasing the achievements of the Forum of Culture for the Blind and highlighting the inspiring success stories and initiatives of its members.
Through these diverse initiatives, Orange Jordan reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting digital inclusion by enabling everyone to access digital services easily and effectively, establishing strategic partnerships with the local community to maximize the impact of initiatives, and enhancing awareness and the culture of inclusion in the workplace and community.
