Director of Public Security Sponsors the Graduation of the First Public Security Friends Course for Deaf and Mute Students

Khaberni - The Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obaid Allah Al-Maaytah, today, Wednesday, in the directorate building, sponsored the graduation of the First Public Security Friends course for deaf and mute students. The course was held for a number of school students with disabilities, "deaf and mute", to enhance their security and community awareness, and to instill positive values and behaviors in them from an early age.

This course was held inside the Directorate of Operations and Control to acquaint deaf students with the 114 service launched by the Public Security Directorate for the deaf to communicate with the operations room and control, and to report any incidents, observations, or request any inquiries.

During the graduation, Major General Al-Maaytah emphasized the importance of conducting such specialized courses, to build bridges of trust with the younger generations, and to establish the concept of community policing and good citizenship among them, so they can be effective partners in spreading the values of commitment and discipline in society.

The Director of Public Security pointed out that persons with disabilities are a fundamental pillar in society, and that supporting them and providing services and care is a shared community responsibility, adding that involving them in various initiatives and activities is a national duty, as it enhances their self-confidence and their potential, and aligns with their right to participate and interact with the community.

During the course, the graduating children received theoretical information and practical training on the workings of the 114 service specifically "for the deaf and mute", which allows them direct visual communication with the Public Security personnel around the clock, to optimally and correctly handle their reports during their requests for help and assistance in addition to topics on traffic safety, first aid, environmental awareness, and discipline and order.
