The company’s board of directors justified its decision – in a disclosure monitored by Khaberni – due to the continuous operational losses of the mandatory insurance branch.
The Middle East Insurance Company has achieved profits over the past years, with net profits attributable to the company's shareholders amounting to about 521 thousand dinars in 2024, 866 thousand dinars in 2023, 2.3 million dinars in 2022, and 1.6 million dinars in 2021.
The company has not registered any losses since 2005, according to its historical data.
