Egyptian Poet Accuses Ahmed Saad of Cloning Amr Diabs Baba Song Melody

Khaberni - Egyptian lyricist Khaled Tag Eldeen sparked widespread controversy after commenting on the song "Ya Haleela" presented by artist Ahmed Saad as part of his latest promotional campaign, stating that its melody was inspired by the song "Baba" by Amr Diab.

Tag Eldeen wrote in a post on his Facebook account, humorously commenting on the matter, saying: "Ahmed Saad made a Baba without Amr, removed Amr's voice and sang Ya Haleela.. The best night is tonight," referring to the similarity he noticed between the works.

Amr Diab continues to lead
Despite the controversy surrounding the new song, Amr Diab still dominates the Arab music scene in 2025, after his latest album "Ebtadena" widely spread across digital platforms, topping the listening charts in several Arab and international countries.

The album stands out for its musical diversity that blends modernity with a traditional Eastern flair, continuing Diab's ability to keep up with successive generations without losing his artistic signature. Among the album's most popular songs is "Khtafoni," which has gained notable interaction after featuring his daughter Jana Diab in its performance.

Also, the song "Baba" has achieved significant global outreach, enhancing Amr Diab's artistic status during the current year. He collaborated on it with the poet Malak Adel, composer Mohamed Yahya, and music arranger Adel Haqi.
