Traffic Management Smooth Traffic Flow Concurrent with the Weather Situation

Khaberni - The Traffic Management and Highway Patrol stated on Wednesday that the traffic flow concurrent with the impactful weather condition over the kingdom is smooth and requires more caution and attention while driving.

The Traffic Management and Highway Patrol urged drivers on Wednesday to ensure their vehicles are technically prepared before driving, especially in the current weather conditions and due to some roads witnessing rainfall and the formation of water pools.

The Traffic Management emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive vehicle inspection, including the viability of tires, functionality of windshield wipers, and front and rear lights, along with ensuring the effectiveness of the brakes. They also stressed the need to avoid areas with water pools that could affect vehicle control and expose drivers and road users to danger.

The administrations urged adherence to speed limits, maintaining sufficient safety distance, and being vigilant in slippery areas, to preserve their safety and that of others.

They also called on pedestrians to exercise the utmost caution, use pedestrian crossings and bridges to cross roads safely, and avoid accidents.

A representative from the Highway Patrol said that since the early morning hours, field groups "motorized and on foot" have been deployed to deal with the active traffic flow accompanying the rainfalls, focusing on regulating traffic and monitoring and controlling violations that cause accidents, in addition to providing guidance and direction.

He mentioned that on Wednesday morning, they dealt with a truck (trailer) overturning incident on the Adasiya - Naour road, which led to the truck hitting a lamp post, resulting in a moderate injury that was transported to Al-Bashir Hospital.

During the past twenty-four hours, they dealt with a collision between two vehicles on the Desert Highway "before Ma'an Bridge heading south", resulting in one injury transported to Ma'an Government Hospital. Additionally, they handled a collision involving three vehicles on the Irbid - Amman road, resulting in an injury that was transported to Jerash Government Hospital.

In regards to serious violations, a vehicle was caught traveling at speeds ranging from 100 to 186 km/h on the Azraq road, and necessary actions were taken.

A representative from the Traffic Management said that since the early hours, all relevant areas have been inspected to ensure they are free from traffic obstacles to secure citizens' access to their workplaces, universities, and schools.

He pointed out that field personnel have been reinforced at the entrances of the capital, in addition to intersections and roundabouts, emphasizing the need to adhere to traffic rules.

He added that on Wednesday morning, a number of traffic incidents were managed quickly and efficiently, thanks to the wide deployment of field personnel, without affecting the smooth flow of traffic.
