Khaberni - In a new development in the case involving children at an international school in the Mandara area of Alexandria, where a school services worker is accused of sexually assaulting young children, the Alexandria Criminal Court decided on Tuesday to refer his papers to the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Egypt for a legal opinion on his execution and has set February 1, 2026, for the verdict announcement.
The decision was made during the second courtroom session held today, Tuesday, amid heightened security measures where the accused was brought from his cell and placed in the dock, while the court listened to the pleadings of the prosecution, the defense of the accused, and the victims.
The first courtroom session
Yesterday, Monday, witnessed the first courtroom session for the accused "S.K.R," a worker at the international school in the Mandara area, before the Alexandria Criminal Court, attended by the five child victims of the assault, under strict security measures and with their families present to protect their identities.
The families of the children took strict measures to protect their children's identities, where the children wore masks and sunglasses to hide their features from camera lenses, in a touching scene reflecting the extent of their suffering.
The attendees noticed one of the children holding a "Spider-Man" toy, symbolically clinging to courage and strength in the face of what they had endured.
The beginning
The facts of case number 27965 for the year 2025, second Montazah misdemeanors, registered under number 4066 for the year 2025 general Montazah, go back to reports filed by the parents of five children, including three girls and two boys born in 2020, at the end of November last year, alleging their exposure to assaults inside a side room at the school garden, where the accused, as a services worker, lured them pretending to play, then committed acts that constitute a severe violation of their physical safety.
The investigations confirmed the assault on 3 girls and a boy in the kindergarten stage, and after legal procedures were legalized, security forces managed to arrest the accused.
In turn, the public prosecution referred the accused to the criminal court after charging him with two crimes of kidnapping by deception associated with the felony of indecent assault, with aggravating circumstances, based on the provisions of Articles 267/2, 268, 290/1, 3, 4 of the Penal Code, and Articles 2 and 116 reiterated of Child Law No. 12 of 1996, amended by Law No. 126 of 2008.
