9493 Labor Complaints on the Himaya Platform

Khaberni - The number of labor complaints, recorded on the "Himaya" platform affiliated with the Ministry of Labor, rose to 9493 complaints during the first ten months of the current year. The ministry confirmed that 3152 complaints were resolved with employers, while 326 complaints are still in process.

The number of violations directed at facilities based on these complaints reached 973 violations. Ministry inspectors made efforts to settle individual complaints amicably, and if no resolution is achieved, the worker is directed to the judiciary to reclaim their rights, especially in complaints regarding termination of employment or financial claims not covered by the employment contract.
As for the types of complaints, non-payment of wages ranked first with 3488 complaints, approximately 37% of the total complaints, while complaints about termination of undefined or verbal contract employment recorded 556 complaints, stopping a worker from working totaled 481 complaints, and termination of fixed-term contract employment totaled 377 complaints.
The rest of the complaints were distributed as follows, reduction of wages: 280, forcing a worker to take unpaid leave: 56, objections to deduction from annual leave: 100, not granting experience certificate: 606, lack of safety and occupational health standards: 91, complaints against employment offices: 12, intellectual property: 3, not giving one-month notice: 50, objection to a legal procedure by the institution: 541
During this period, the inspection teams carried out 26071 inspection visits, including 19 visits targeted at specific economic sectors, while the total number of warnings issued was 7291, and the total number of violations was 5403, all according to labor law provisions.
Thus, these data reflect the ongoing labor challenges in Jordan, where complaints of non-payment of wages continue to dominate the scene, while the ministry continues its efforts to reduce violations and protect workers' rights.
