Khaberni - Helmy Toulan, the coach of Egypt's second national team, made angry statements after bidding farewell to the 2025 Arab Cup, affirming that he bears the responsibility.
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the Arab Cup from the first round after a 0-3 loss against Jordan in the last group stage round of the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar.
Helmy Toulan said in the press conference after the match: "The person responsible for this insult is only one person, he who has in his hands the power to stop the league.. One person refused to stop the league, sacrificing Egypt's reputation, and the reputation of Egyptian football."
He added: "I take full responsibility and do not shirk it. The sin of the Egyptian fans here in Qatar or in Cairo is on my neck, and I offer them my apologies."
He continued: "This team was born an orphan by someone’s doing, I make no excuses, and I take full responsibility, but what I say is true, and this national team did not find genuine support, nobody supported me before coming to Qatar."
He explained: "15 national teams halted their leagues so each team could utilize their best players, with the exception of the Egyptian league, under the pretext that it was a friendly tournament."
He went on: "The Egyptian league was not stopped because of Pyramids FC and everyone knows the level of Pyramids players, we came to the tournament without 7 key players and I had to include new players, whose responsibility is this?"
Helmy Toulan concluded by saying: "They said that the Egyptian league is more important than the national team, a precedent that happens for the first time in history."
