4 million project cost to replace the water conveyance line between Bushriyah and Safawi

Khaberni - The director of the Water Administration of Northeast Badia, Ahmad Dardour, said that a tender for changing the water conveyance line from the Bushriyah area towards Safawi has been issued.

Dardour added that the Yarmouk Water Company has tendered a project to change the water conveyance line from the Bushriyah area towards Safawi, spanning 32 kilometers at a financial cost of $4 million with a loan from the World Bank, noting that all financial aspects of the project are subject to increase depending on the project's progress. The project aims to improve the water situation and the pumping operations for subscribers in Safawi and other areas through which the new conveyance line passes, including Manshiyat Al-Khalifa.

Dardour explained that the project duration is 22 months, including 10 months for tendering and designing the project, highlighting that the remaining 12 months will cover the project implementation.

Dardour pointed out that the current metal and very old water conveyance line running from the Bushriyah area towards Safawi has exceeded its operational lifespan of 100 years, suffers from wear and tear, and experiences numerous breaks that maintenance efforts can no longer address.
