Khaberni - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Tuesday, honored the winners of the Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Volunteerism in its third edition, during a ceremony held at the Cultural Palace in Al Hussein City for Youth.
Dr. Raed Adwan, the Minister of Youth and Deputy Chairman of the Award's Board of Trustees, emphasized in his speech during the ceremony that the culture of volunteering in Jordan represents an extension of the Hashemite legacy based on human service and supporting the distressed, appreciating the Crown Prince's support for youth and enhancing the culture of volunteering among them, which he described as a firm national approach.
The Award, organized by the Ministry of Youth in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), received 13,912 applications in social, health, educational, sports, artistic, cultural, environmental, tourism, entrepreneurship, innovation, and training fields.
The winners met the criteria according to the four categories of the Award: Outstanding Individual Volunteer Work, Outstanding Volunteer Work Team, Outstanding Volunteer Project for For-profit Organizations, and Outstanding Volunteer Project for Non-profit Organizations.
In the category of Outstanding Individual Volunteer Work, Tahani Al-Khatib won first place, with Abdulrahman Al-Alemat and Dania Mehyar securing second place, and Rawan Abu Zanona and Munaf Khreis finishing third.
In the category of Outstanding Volunteer Work Team, UOJ Teletherapy Group came first, the "Made with Determination" team won second place, and the "Qatrah Ghaith" team along with the "Fun Day" initiative came in third.
Regarding the category of Outstanding Volunteer Project for For-profit Organizations, Joramco company achieved first place, Deloitte & Touche Middle East Ltd came second, and Darat Al Shabab Foundation secured third place.
In the category of Outstanding Volunteer Project for Non-profit Organizations, Al-Farouq Charitable Society for Orphan Care won first place, followed by Amman Safe Future Orphans Fund in second place, and Wehb Al-Farah Consulting and Aid in third.
The ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Mera’d bin Ra’ad, the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Director of the Office of the Crown Prince, Dr. Zaid Al-Baqain, along with a number of high-ranking civil and military officials, Mark Rubein, the UNICEF representative in Jordan, and ambassadors from brotherly and friendly countries.
