Jordan Expected to Send Humanitarian Aid to Gaza on Wednesday

Khaberni - An official source expects Jordan to send humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip tomorrow, Wednesday, following the decision to reopen the King Hussein Bridge "Allenby" crossing with Jordan for the transfer of goods and aid to the Gaza Strip.

The source confirmed the reopening of the crossing for the movement of goods and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, noting that the continued flow of aid is an urgent humanitarian necessity that cannot be delayed, according to the Kingdom.

He stated that Jordan always calls for keeping the crossing permanently open, and not to use it as a pressure card or close it under any pretext, emphasizing that the crossing is an important artery for delivering aid to the besieged sector.

The source explained that the Kingdom, since the beginning of the war, has intensified its political and humanitarian efforts to secure safe corridors for aid, and that reopening the Allenby crossing is a step in the right direction, but it is not sufficient alone unless a permanent and unconditional flow of relief to the people of Gaza is ensured.

Israel announced on Tuesday the reopening of the "Allenby" crossing with Jordan for the transfer of goods and aid to the Gaza Strip starting from Wednesday.

Israel agreed to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza via the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Crossing) after a more than two-and-a-half-month halt, since the shooting incident at the Israeli soldiers in mid-September.

The Israeli decision came after American pressure, resulting from Jordanian movement and continuous pressure over the past period.

The decision of Israel to allow the introduction of aid came a day after a meeting of His Majesty the King with the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz.

Jordan did not stop pressuring for reopening the crossing and introducing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip through Jordanian ports.

His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, met this week with the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, where the issue of allowing Jordanian aid trucks into Gaza was a focus of the discussion.

Israel responded to the American pressure, and the crossing will be opened from its side for aid starting from Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Jordan is heading to send an aid convoy consisting of a number of trucks, expected to increase in number over time.

It should be noted that Jordan, in cooperation with partnering international organizations, is capable of sending more than 8,400 aid trucks, as the warehouses of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization contain tons of aid with a load of about 3,400 trucks.
