Khaberni - The Jordanian national team has secured qualification to the round of 8 of the Arab Cup, after winning against the UAE and Kuwait.
At the end of the group matches this evening, the other three teams still have chances to join the Nashama in the next round:
Here are the qualification scenarios for Egypt, Kuwait, and the UAE:
Egypt
• Winning against Jordan guarantees direct qualification regardless of the outcome of the other match between the UAE and Kuwait.
• Drawing against Jordan would also secure Egypt's qualification by raising their points to 3, provided that the Kuwait vs UAE match ends in a draw of any score, as this would leave both teams with only two points.
• A loss against Jordan could also qualify the Egyptian team for the quarterfinals, provided the UAE vs Kuwait match ends in a draw; Egypt would then advance on goal difference or would turn to the fair play rule or world ranking.
UAE vs Kuwait
As for the UAE team led by their Romanian manager Cosmin Olaroiu and the Kuwait team coached by the Portuguese Helio Sousa, they have no choice but to win the match held at the “974” World Cup stadium, coinciding with the Nashama and Egypt match.
A victory for either Kuwait or the UAE would raise each of their points to 4, ensuring their qualification provided the Egypt vs Jordan match ends in a draw or a Nashama win.
However, if the match between the "Blue" Kuwait and "White" UAE ends in a draw with Jordan defeating Egypt, then the teams of Egypt, Kuwait, and the UAE would all have two points, waiting for complex calculations for qualification based on goal difference and fair play before resorting to the world ranking.
