Start of Ajloun National Park Project Implementation

Khaberni - The Chairman of the board of the Jordanian group for free and development zones, Sakher Al-Ajlouni, confirmed that work has actually begun, through qualified contractors, to implement the Ajloun National Park project, which is considered to be one of the largest tourism and development projects in northern Jordan.

He noted in a press statement that the project is in line with the royal directives to enhance balanced development in various governorates, and it aligns with the targets of the economic modernization vision.

Al-Ajlouni said that the park extends over an area of approximately 700 dunams, to be developed in two stages; the first phase includes 140 dunams, and the second phase includes 150 dunams within the first development part, with the remaining areas to be completed later.

He added that the site is distinguished for being among the most beautiful natural areas in the kingdom, featuring forests, highlands, and unique vistas that make it an ideal destination for eco-tourism and recreational tourism all year round. Furthermore, the park will achieve an important integration with the Ajloun cable car project and other tourism facilities under development.

Al-Ajlouni indicated that the project includes between 15 to 20 diverse investment opportunities, pointing out that it will form a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable development in Ajloun governorate and the adjacent areas through stimulating local and foreign investment. The investment opportunities include various tourism and entertainment elements, among them: (a four-star hotel, boutique hotel, eco-lodge, a camping area for university and school students, a family park, children's playground, adventure area, outdoor cinema, and multi-purpose halls, providing an opportunity for the private sector to engage in true developmental partnerships that serve the area).

Al-Ajlouni added that the project will contribute to providing more than 200 direct job opportunities for the residents of Ajloun governorate, in addition to hundreds of indirect opportunities during the construction and operation phases.

He pointed out that the park will enhance the presence of handicrafts and local products by allocating spaces for displaying and marketing them to visitors, supporting the economic empowerment of rural communities. The park is expected to attract large numbers of visitors from different governorates of the kingdom, as well as foreign tourists looking for environmental and recreational experiences in exceptional natural settings.

Al-Ajlouni emphasized that the master plan of the project meticulously considers the balance between development and environmental preservation, by protecting the natural plant cover, using environmentally friendly construction materials, and developing walking and relaxation trails that harmonize with the aesthetics of the site and its natural character.
