Netanyahu meets Trump on December 29

Khaberni - A spokeswoman for the office of the Israeli Prime Minister confirmed on Tuesday that Benjamin Netanyahu will meet American President Donald Trump in the United States on the current December 29.

The announcement of the fifth meeting between Trump and Netanyahu since the beginning of this year comes after the Israeli Prime Minister said he expects to move "very soon" to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement sponsored by the United States.

Spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian said "The meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu will be held on Monday, December 29", without further details about the location or duration of the visit.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu and Trump are expected to meet twice during the eight-day visit.

The channel said that Netanyahu will visit Trump at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Netanyahu said on Sunday that he would discuss "opportunities for peace" in the Middle East with Trump.

Netanyahu stated during a press conference after meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Jerusalem, "We expect to move very soon to the second stage, which is more difficult" than the current truce since October 10th in the Gaza Strip.

The first phase saw the release of 47 out of 48 detainees, including 20 alive.

The second phase stipulates the withdrawal of Israel from its current positions in Gaza and the governance of the sector by a transitional authority with the deployment of an international stabilization force.

According to the plan, the next phase should begin after the return of all the living hostages and the remains of those deceased.

Netanyahu said, "We have a second phase, no less difficult, and it involves disarming Hamas and clearing Gaza of weapons."
