Khaberni - A two-year-old child died today in the town of Na'tifah, West Irbid, after being suffocated due to a gas leak inside his family's home, according to a medical source.
According to the source, the ambulance teams from the Civil Defense Directorate in Irbid received a report about the child losing consciousness inside the house. They immediately moved to the site and transferred him to Princess Basma Hospital, but he arrived deceased due to suffocation.
The source confirmed that initial indicators suggest that the incident was due to a gas leak from a heater inside the home, while the security forces have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the death.
The Civil Defense urged citizens to take general safety measures while using heaters and to ensure proper ventilation to avoid such painful incidents.
