Amman Municipality Paving 28 million square meters of streets within 4 months

Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality, over the past four months, paved numerous sites across its 22 areas, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the infrastructure efficiency and provide a safe traffic environment within its continuous plan to improve the capital's road network.

The total area of paving under the open tenders reached 2,825,000 square meters, with a total cost of 15,537,000 dinars.

The Municipality paved 1,215,000 square meters of main streets through the tenders allocated this year.

The work included paving Jordan Street, from the Martyr's Tunnel to the Rawabdeh Tunnel in Abunseir and in the direction from Rawabdeh Tunnel to Queen Alia Rise in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, with a total area of 410,000 square meters.

It also included the paving of Al-Jaysh Street from Al-Mahatta Bridge to the entrance signals of Al-Haddadeh Tunnel and in the opposite direction from the Rapid Bus Station to the end of Al-Mahatta Bridge towards Al-Maslakh Intersection, with a total area of 130,000 square meters, within the tender allocated for Jordan Street and Al-Jaysh Street.

The Municipality also executed night paving works, covering 675,000 square meters, for several main vital streets, aiming not to obstruct traffic during the day, which included Queen Rania Street, Medina Monawara, Safi Al-Tal, Queen Alia, Queen Zein Al-Sharaf, Princess Alia, Zahran, Al-Fursiyya in Al-Nasr area, Al-Yarmouk from Al-Skafi Tunnel towards Al-Nasha Bridge, Al-Hurriya along with Al-Jamarek Bridge in both directions, Kafrain South Amman, King Abdullah II from Khalda Tunnel and Said Khair Medical City Tunnel, in addition to Amer Bin Malek Street, Jerusalem, and Rantisi Tunnel, Khalil Al-Salem Street, Marka Roundabout, Abdoun Roundabout with the fourth loops, Al-Noori Al-Hadeed Street in Al-Quwaysimah area, and Amman Sahab Street in the direction from Sahab towards Mercedes Tunnel.

Moreover, the resurfacing of Rehab Street Project in Al-Nasr area, Prince Hassan Camp, has been completed, as part of the Amman neighborhoods development plan, which is one of the strategic projects of the Municipality, through a tender allocated for the project, in addition to other scattered sites. The paving area for the project and its branches reached 190,000 square meters, and the remaining from the tender with a total area of 210,000 square meters will be used to pave the targeted neighborhoods within the areas.

The Municipality will carry out paving works in the industrial area in Wadi Al-Seer and other areas, under the daytime tender allocated for implementing the plans of areas and neighborhoods, with a total area of 500,000 square meters.

Amman Municipality, through its personnel and machinery, and the asphalt mixer it owns, executed preventive maintenance and daily paving works, by accomplishing 8,000 square meters daily distributed across maintenance workshops, totaling 23 workshops, which undertake defect repairs on roads, adjustment of service manhole levels, in addition to 3 VTP teams that perform paving within the areas of Amman Municipality.
