A death sentence with a suspended execution was issued against Guo Jun Guoyin, the former president of the Chinese General Administration of Sport, based on accusations of bribery and abuse of position, according to the details reported by China Central Television about today's Monday verdict.
Guo received bribes totaling 236 million yuan ($33.4 million) between 2009 and 2024 while he held official positions including Deputy Mayor of Beijing and president of the General Administration of Sport, according to Bloomberg News Agency.
