Khaberni - The inspection and control teams at the Food and Drug Corporation seized a beauty center in the capital, Amman, which uses for its clients the “NAD+ for intravenous injection” product, noting that it is not licensed or approved by the institution.
The institution clarified that the “NAD+ for intravenous injection” product, which is heavily and misleadingly promoted on social media as an energy booster or anti-aging compound, has not obtained approval from the Food and Drug Corporation to be licensed for use and does not have an authorized agent with us. Moreover, claims about the efficacy and efficiency of this product are not based on accepted scientific or clinical criteria, indicating that administering it intravenously could lead to serious complications that may not be manageable outside of an adequately equipped medical environment.
The institution added that the entire quantity of the mentioned product was seized according to the regulations and legal actions were taken against the violating center, with the violators being referred to the Public Prosecutor, reaffirming the continuation of its inspection campaigns to control any establishments engaged in unlicensed practices or dealing with unregistered products, in order to protect the health and safety of citizens.
The institution emphasized that administering intravenous injections within beauty centers constitutes an illegal medical practice that poses significant health risks to clients.
The institution called for the need to contact and report any observations, inquiries, or complaints regarding this matter through the toll-free complaints hotline 117114, the email address [email protected], and via the WhatsApp application at the number (0795632000).
