Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II confirmed, during his meeting with Christian religious leaders at Al Husseiniya Palace, the importance of restoring stability in the Middle East and maintaining the Christian presence there.

His Majesty stressed, during two meetings held in the presence of HRH Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, with His Beatitude Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Orthodox, and His Holiness the Archbishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church Methodije, the necessity to stop the violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in the Holy City, aimed at altering the existing historical and legal status.

His Majesty mentioned, in the presence of HRH Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the senior advisor to His Majesty for religious and cultural affairs and his personal envoy, and His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and all of Palestine and Jordan, the ongoing role of Jordan in protecting these holy sites, deriving from the Hashemite Custodianship over them.

The two meetings discussed the overall situation in the region, where His Majesty emphasized the necessity to ensure compliance with the agreement to end the war in Gaza, the flow of humanitarian aid, and stopping the serious escalation in the West Bank.

The meetings were attended by the director of His Majesty's office, Engineer Alaa Al-Batayneh.
