Khaberni - At the start of the discussions on the 2026 budget project, the leader of the Centrist and National Islamic Parties Bloc, Captain Zuhair Mohammad Al-Khashman, delivered one of the most attention-grabbing words after he began his intervention with a question described by the parliament members as "a question that sums up the entire economic situation of Jordan."
Al-Khashman frankly said under the dome:
"Does this budget build Jordan's future... or does it merely manage an increasingly complex present?"
He added that this question alone—not others—determines whether the council is discussing a financial document, or discussing the state's ability to take one step forward towards a productive economy, a stable society, and sustainable growth.
Al-Khashman confirmed that reading the budget's figures reveals a clear truth:
"We are faced with a budget that manages commitments... more than it creates transformation."
The intervention, which relied on posing just one question before delving into the details of the figures, garnered the interest of parliament members and observers, as it placed the essence of the debate at its beginning:
