Khaberni - The Library Department at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan organized a specialized workshop titled "Selecting Your International Journal," presented by Mrs. Mahinour Akda, the Regional Director for Publishing and Training at Emerald Publishing, and Mrs. Areej Al-Barghouthi, Regional Manager for the Middle East at the same publishing house. This was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Tareq Al-Qurum, several deans, vice deans, and faculty members, in addition to a group of postgraduate students. The Head of the Library Department, Mr. Mohammad Nadaf, also participated in the workshop activities.

During the workshop, Mrs. Mahinour Akda discussed the mechanisms of choosing the appropriate international scientific journals for publishing, explaining the essential criteria a researcher should consider before submitting their research, in addition to clarifying the differences between types of journals, and ways to verify their credibility and academic accreditation. She also highlighted the major challenges researchers face in the publishing process and provided practical solutions to enhance the chances of their research being accepted in peer-reviewed journals.

Moreover, the focus was on empowering researchers and academics to make informed decisions when selecting scientific journals suitable for publishing their research output, through offering practical guidelines on analyzing the scope of the journals, assessing how research topics align with their editorial policies, and recognizing quality indicators such as impact factor and global database rankings. The workshop also aimed to raise awareness about the phenomenon of predatory journals and provide participants with the skills to evaluate trustworthy journals to ensure their research is published through recognized scientific channels internationally.

Mahinour Akda is considered one of the leading specialists in the field of academic publishing in the region, acting as a link between researchers and the publishing house through her management of regional training and publishing. In addition to presenting workshops and specialized lectures focusing on how to prepare research and studies in accordance with international publishing standards.

The workshop concluded with an open discussion where Mrs. Akda answered questions from the audience, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the culture of rigorous scientific publishing and its pivotal role in supporting academic research and improving the level of scientific output in universities.
