Khaberni - In a long post on the "Truth Social" platform, Trump (79 years old) described CNN's American network reporter Kaitlan Collins as "stupid and rude" and misspelled her name, apparently in response to her question about the renovation of the controversial White House ballroom.
Trump wrote: "Kaitlan Collins from the (CNN) fake news network, always stupid and rude, asked me why the cost of the new ballroom was higher than expected a year ago. I answered that it would be twice the planned size, and that the quality of finishes and interior decorations has reached the highest level. Furthermore, the extension of the columns was significantly increased to facilitate visibility."
Trump continued: "In fact, the project is under budget and ahead of schedule, as is usual in all my projects. It is simply bigger and more beautiful than originally planned. Interestingly, and seldom mentioned, is that there is no taxpayer funding, as the project is fully funded by private donations."
He concluded his post by saying: "The (CNN) fake news network and the person running the corrupt operation that owns it are the worst in the business. Their ratings are so low that they are no longer counted or relevant."
Collins later responded on the same day on her Instagram account by reposting Trump's attack with a short comment: "Technically, my question was about Venezuela."
The journalist pointed to the increasing tension between the two countries, including Trump's administration allegedly striking drug boats off the coast and its threats of escalation, and inviting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to step down.
It is worth noting that Trump's attack on Collins is the latest in a series of attacks on female journalists, where he recently described the White House correspondent for "CBS" Nancy Cordes as "a stupid person" and journalist Katie Rogers from the "New York Times" as "ugly inside and out," and targeted journalist Catherine Lucy from "Bloomberg" two weeks ago.
