Khaberni - As part of the ongoing efforts of Amman Arab University to instill values of integrity and transparency among its students, the Dean of Student Affairs at the university organized, in cooperation with the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, an awareness session titled "Academic Integrity" presented by the investigator Zuhair Al-Ayasra from the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, attended by Dr. Mohammad Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, and several members of the faculty and administrative staff and students of the university.

During the session, Al-Ayasra reviewed the inception of the Integrity Commission and the laws regulating its work, explaining that Jordan is among the pioneering Arab countries in the field of combating corruption and implementing integrity standards, in harmony with the political will that supports establishing a national environment based on the rule of law and accountability. He also referred to the launch of the National Integrity Index in 2022, which measures the extent of institutions' adherence to standards of integrity, transparency, and sound governance, and its role in enhancing public trust and pushing institutions to enhance efforts to fight corruption and prevent it. He pointed out that this meeting comes as a continuation of a series of programs targeted at higher education institutions, aimed at disseminating the culture of integrity and embedding its values, starting from the authority’s belief in the importance of the academic role in building a strong system of national awareness, as universities represent a reflection of society with the responsibility to disseminate concepts of responsible behavior and denounce corruption.

In this regard, Dr. Bin Tarif emphasized the importance of these meetings in enhancing students' understanding of the institutional and legal framework for fighting corruption, praising the ongoing cooperation between Amman Arab University and the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, and the university's efforts in raising legal awareness and establishing a culture of integrity in the university environment.

The session witnessed active participation from the students through an extensive discussion between the students and the lecturer, addressing the major challenges facing efforts to combat corruption, important proposed solutions, enhancing regulatory legislation, intensifying awareness campaigns, and embedding concepts of integrity in educational curricula, contributing to the development of an aware generation capable of confronting corruption and protecting the national integrity system.
