Khaberni - Turkish media revealed a rare and peculiar medical condition afflicting a man in his fifties, characterized by continuous hiccup episodes for over a year and a half.
Osman Akin, 55 years old, suffers from continuous hiccups that make his daily life extremely difficult. These episodes recur periodically, sometimes lasting an entire week without stopping, then they subside for a few hours before reappearing.
Akin explained that the episodes prevent him from eating normally and lead to constant vomiting, severe exhaustion, and stomach pains. He added, "The hiccup bouts started a year and a half ago and are still ongoing.. During an episode, I cannot eat and suffer from severe exhaustion and stomach pains."
The man mentioned that he visited many hospitals and underwent numerous tests, including X-rays and laboratory analyses, but he has not found any effective treatment for his condition.
He added, "These episodes have destroyed my life and my family's life.. They are tired of our frequent trips to the hospital, and we are all mentally and physically exhausted.. I am looking for a medical solution to end this continuous torment."
