Media reports confirmed that Al Ahly club officials are awaiting the approval of Danish coach Jes Thorup to sign Jordanian striker Yazan Al-Naimat, of Al-Arabi Qatar and the Jordan national team, to bolster the striker position before initiating formal negotiations with the star of Nashama, aiming to secure him by January.
The Egyptian newspaper Al-Youm Al-Sabea reported that Yazan Al-Naimat has delivered impressive performances with the Jordan national team during his participation in the Arab Cup, and will play the next game with "Al-Nashama" against Egypt's national team in the third round of the tournament, at a time when he is attracting significant interest from the Egyptian league champions.
It was explained that: "Al Ahly officials are considering signing Yazan Al-Naimat by activating the buyout clause in his contract with Al-Arabi Qatar, which is valued at one and a half million dollars, by paying it to the Qatar Football Association to acquire the player's services."
Jordanian media reports revealed that Al Ahly is interested in signing Yazan Al-Naimat during the upcoming winter transfer period, to enhance the team's offensive strength.
According to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Ra'i, the Al Ahly management has tasked board member and the football affairs official Syed Abdelhafiz with opening negotiation channels with the player next month during the registration period.
The newspaper pointed out that Al Ahly is ready to pay the buyout clause to Al-Arabi Qatar, a step that reflects the club's desire, the most decorated with the African Champions League titles, to sign the 26-year-old Jordanian talent, especially given the busy match schedule that awaits the team under coach Thorup.
The newspaper mentioned that Al-Naimat's brilliance notably emerged last year, after leading the Jordan team to runner-up in the Asian Cup in Doha, entering his name among the nominees for the best in the continent, before actively contributing to Nashama's qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and continuing his recent standout performances in the Arab Cup in Doha.
