Khaberni - A Palestinian was martyred and another critically injured this Monday morning by gunfire from Israeli occupation forces, near the town of Azzun east of Qalqilya city in the occupied northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated in a release that soldiers stationed at the main (northern) entrance of Azzun town fired live ammunition at a vehicle driving along the Qalqilya–Nablus road, resulting in the martyrdom of the young man Momen Nidal Abu Riash (19 years old) from Qalqilya, and critically injuring another.
Following the shooting at the vehicle, the occupation forces closed the iron gate situated at the main entrance to the village of Al-Nabi Elias east of Qalqilya leading to the town of Azzun, and obstructed the movement of Palestinian citizens, while soldiers deployed at the entrance of the nearby "Azbat al-Tabib."
