Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara confirmed that neglecting the achievements of the Syrian revolution will make the cost of the upcoming stage double compared to what Syria and its people endured during the past fourteen years.
Al-Sharaa said on Sunday, during his participation in a public event held at the Sham Hotel in the capital Damascus on the occasion of the first anniversary of the liberation: "If we now neglect the achievements of the revolution, we will pay double what we paid in 14 years."
Al-Sharaa mentioned in his speech that "the bill that was paid was huge, as half of the people were displaced," pointing out that "the victory achieved in eleven days formed the last link of the Syrian scene."
He added: "The bill was heavy as the people were hit with chemicals, arrested, and tortured in prisons," referring to what Syrians have undergone over the past years.
It is mentioned that Al-Sharaa returned today, Sunday, to Damascus, after a visit to the Qatari capital Doha to participate in the Doha Forum 2025, accompanied by both the minister Al-Sheibani and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Marwan Al-Halabi.
In a speech delivered during the Doha Forum, Al-Sharaa reiterated that Syria is on the right path, and that all the steps that were taken were in the public interest, transforming the country from a crisis-exporting region to a model of stability.
He pointed out that the previous regime left the state with many conflicts, and that the current government has taken measures that helped to calm the situation, despite the challenges faced, accounting for those responsible.
Al-Sharaa added that Syria is now living in the best of its conditions, moving towards a rising economic environment that supports stability, and that matters are progressing in the direction of lifting international sanctions against it.
Syrians will celebrate on December 8 the anniversary of a year since the liberation and the fall of Bashar Al-Assad's regime, where Syrian cities will witness notable popular and cultural activities, alongside organizing shows and official celebrations that embody the meanings of resilience and consolidate the national values associated with this anniversary.
