Khaberni - Both "Google" and "Apple" sent an alert to their users worldwide following a cybersecurity threat against their phones, after both companies confirmed the existence of the threats, according to a Reuters report.

"Apple" confirmed to Reuters that the attack targeted users in more than 150 countries worldwide, without discussing the number of users at risk from this breach or even mentioning the responsible party.

"Google" confirmed that the Israeli company "Intellexa" is responsible for this breach, indicating that victims are in several Arab and Asian countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Tajikistan, and Pakistan.

It is worth mentioning that "Intellexa" is subject to a series of US sanctions, but it operates normally without any restrictions.

In a separate report published by the technical website "The Hacker News," a human rights lawyer from the Balochistan region of Pakistan explained that he received a suspicious link from a strange number on "WhatsApp".

The companies' warning comes following a joint investigation by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the Greek news site "Inside Story," the Swiss technology site "Inside Tech," and Amnesty International.

This is not the first time mobile companies have sent a warning to their users, as it happened in the past months when more than 80 journalists in Italy and Spain were targeted.
