Khaberni - South Korean giant Samsung is gearing up to enter a new phase of competition with Apple in the smartwatch market, through the development of a new smartwatch named "Galaxy Watch Ultra".
It is expected that the new watch will reach the markets in 2026, to be a direct competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Samsung is currently working on developing an enhanced version of its flagship smartwatch, codenamed "Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra", which is expected to be officially launched as "Galaxy Watch Ultra 2", according to a report by the technology news website Digital Trends.
The Korean company is seeking through this step to enhance its position in the high-performance smartwatch market, and to face Apple's upcoming launch of its new watch in 2026.
If the watch is launched in the markets during July or August of 2026, then Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will enter direct competition with the Apple Watch Ultra 3, placing itself at the heart of the wearable devices race between the two largest global technology companies.
This timing is strategic, especially if it coincides with Samsung's launch of its new foldable phones, which could increase the strength of the marketing campaign for the watch.
The new watch is expected to come with a larger screen and more powerful battery, and a luxurious titanium body that adds a touch of elegance and durability, alongside advanced cellular connectivity.
Samsung will also rely on upgrading processing chips to enhance the performance and efficiency of the watch, including Galaxy Watch 9 models, to meet the aspirations of users looking for strong and seamless performance in smart devices.
