Khaberni - Thousands of Syrians gathered in the Roman amphitheater square in the city of Busra al-Sham in Daraa, on Sunday, to celebrate the first anniversary of "Liberation Day" and the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, by preparing the largest "Fine Mansaf" in the history of the region.
The event featured a broad festive atmosphere, with dozens of chefs and volunteers participating in the preparation of the feast that used massive amounts of ingredients, notably 500 kg of meat, two tons of bulgur, in addition to hundreds of liters of jameed and local ghee, to serve more than 10,000 people.
The choice of Busra al-Sham—the cradle of the initial protests in 2011—to host the event highlights the symbolism of the place and the anniversary.
During the celebration, the governor of Daraa emphasized the importance of these events in enhancing national unity and closing the chapter of tyranny.
