Petra University offers medical services to 100 people in AlAdasiyah area

Petra University carried out a free medical day in the Al-Adasiyah area, with the participation of the faculties of Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the health center and the university pharmacy, where one hundred people from the local community benefited from the medical services provided.

The director of the health center at Petra University, Dr. Ahmed Jad Allah, said that the university places great importance on serving the local community and is keen on conducting the medical day annually, adding that the initiative comes from the belief in the role of universities in supporting community development and meeting its needs.

The general medicine clinic offered examination and diagnostic services under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Jad Allah, while the dentistry clinic received cases and provided initial treatment under the supervision of Dr. Doaa Qa’dan, Dr. Tala Maragha, and Dr. Heba Al-Kharabsheh.

The nutrition and dietary counseling clinic provided assessments that included measuring body mass and offering health consultations, while students from the College of Pharmacy participated in dispensing basic medications and treatments under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Niaz.

The event was organized by the Public Relations Department at the university, in coordination with the director of public relations, Alaa Arabiyat, the community service liaison officer, the library manager Manar Ramadan, the director of Al-Adasiyah Mixed Basic School, Haifa Abu al-Humus, and the director of Al-Adasiyah Secondary School for Girls, Asma Al-Thawabia.

At the conclusion of the event, the university presented appreciation shields to the directors of the two schools and to the chairman of the Local Community Development Council, Mr. Radwan Al-Thawabia, in appreciation of their cooperation and support for the initiative.

It is worth mentioning that the medical day is part of Petra University's commitment to the goals of sustainable development, specifically the third goal related to good health and well-being.
