Khaberni - - The General Statistics Department released its monthly report for the current year on the general price index for agricultural producers, which registered a 6.9 percent increase in the prices of agricultural producers for the first ten months of the current year compared to the same period last year, and an increase for October of last year by 14.6 percent, compared with the corresponding month of 2024, and a decrease of 0.99 percent compared with the preceding month of the same year.

The cumulative index for agricultural producers' prices for the first ten months of the current year amounted to 115.7 compared to 108.2 for the same period of 2024, while the index for agricultural producers' prices for last October was recorded at 116.8 compared to 101.9 for the same month of 2024, while the index for October of last year was recorded at 116.8 compared to 117.9 for the preceding September.

Comparing the first ten months of the current year with the same period of the previous year, the prices of agricultural producers for several crops increased, notably: hot chili peppers, green sweet peppers, and bananas, which accounted for a relative importance of 63.5 percent, while the index rate decreased for several crops, notably: potatoes, colored sweet peppers, and eggplants with a relative importance of 36.5 percent.

The increase in the price index for agricultural producers for last October compared to the same month of 2024 is attributed to the rise in the price index for several crops, most importantly: lemons, dates, and tomatoes, where the relative importance of the crops that increased in price was 63.6 percent, conversely, the price index decreased for several crops, notably: potatoes, green corn, and zucchini, where the relative importance of the crops that decreased in price was 36.4 percent.

Comparing the price index for last October with the index for the preceding September, the prices for a group of crops that accounted for a relative importance of 62.9 percent decreased, most notably: cauliflower, white cabbage, and green beans, while the price index increased for a group of crops, notably: tomatoes, loose Molokhia, and colored sweet peppers, with a relative importance of 37.1 percent.
