Khaberni - Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, does not anticipate a sudden rise in employee layoffs linked to artificial intelligence, but this does not mean that this technology will not cause a radical change in the job market, or even create new jobs such as robot tailors.

During an interview with podcast host Joe Rogan this week, Huang added that the jobs most resistant to the growing impact of artificial intelligence will be those that go beyond just performing routine tasks.

The CEO of Nvidia said, "If your job is just to chop vegetables, then the Cuisinart food processor will replace you," according to a report by Fortune magazine.

On the other hand, some jobs, such as radiology specialists, may be safe because their role is not limited to performing scans but also interpreting those images to diagnose patients. Huang said, "Studying the images is simply a task for diagnosing diseases."

Huang acknowledged that some jobs will indeed disappear, although he avoided using harsh language like others, such as Jeffrey Hinton known as the "godfather of artificial intelligence," and the CEO of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, who previously predicted widespread unemployment due to improved AI tools.

Nonetheless, the potential job market dominated by artificial intelligence envisioned by Huang might also add some new jobs, according to his predictions.

This includes the possibility of new demand for technicians to help build and maintain future artificial intelligence assistants, mentioned Huang, along with other industries hard to imagine at the current time.

Huang said, "There will be a clothing industry for robots, a whole industry... because I want my robot to look different from your robot," adding, "So there will be a whole clothing industry for robots."

The idea of robots powered by artificial intelligence taking over jobs previously occupied by humans may seem like science fiction, yet some of the world's leading technology companies are already trying to turn this into a reality.

Artificial intelligence is advancing at a tremendous pace, so much so that it already has the potential to replace millions of jobs. According to a report last month by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, artificial intelligence can efficiently perform approximately 12% of jobs in the United States, representing about 151 million workers, with wages exceeding one trillion dollars.

Even the potential job suggested by Huang, that is, a robot clothing maker, might not last long. When asked if robots could eventually make clothes for other robots, Huang answered: "Eventually, yes. And then there will be something else."
