Khaberni - Twelve people were killed and 26 injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Saturday in the state of Béni Abbès, southern Algeria.

Algerian media mentioned that civil protection and security teams started an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident, while the victims and injured were transported to nearby hospitals.

In a post on the "X" platform, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his condolences to the victims' families, saying, "We are deeply pained by the traffic accident that occurred today in the state of Béni Abbès, which claimed the lives of 12 of our citizens."

He added, "With deep sorrow and sadness, I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the departed victims, praying to God to grant their families patience and solace, and for a swift recovery to the injured, God willing, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah the Almighty."
