Khaberni - In response to the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Wadian, President of Arab Amman University, and under the supervision of Dr. Anwar Al-Assaf, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, aimed at reinforcing the social role of the faculty and deepening students' knowledge awareness, the students of the Renewable Energy Engineering Department organized an educational event about sustainable energy at Anwar Al-Sabah School. This was under the supervision of the department's students branch at the Association of Energy Engineers AEE-AAU, in collaboration with the Power and Energy Society PES – IEEE, targeting students from the seventh to the tenth grades through two interactive sessions presented by participating university students.
The sessions included introducing the school students to the world of energy engineering and reviewing the objectives and message of the student branches, in addition to discussing energy classifications and the differences between conventional and renewable sources. They highlighted major renewable energy projects in Jordan. The event also covered the concept of sustainability and the role of clean energy in enhancing it, along with addressing the role of modern information technology, such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity systems, in the development of the energy sector. The event featured an interactive Q&A segment with entertaining prizes that helped raise the enthusiasm of students and enhance their participation. Contributors included: student Reem Khashan, student Shahd Al-Shab, student Mahfouz Abu Hunia, student Maria Al-Louzi, student Tala Al-Manasra, student Hatem Enaya, and student Tareq Al-Abdallat from the Renewable Energy Engineering Department at the University, who presented a variety of educational content that had a positive impact on the school students.
At the end of the event, the AEE-AAU team and PES-AAU team expressed their deep gratitude to Anwar Al-Sabah School management and to the General Manager Mr. Samer Abu Hunia for their warm reception and support. They also extended a special thanks to Engineer Samer Zawaydeh, International Activities Manager at the Association of Energy Engineers, for his ongoing efforts in supporting the initiatives of the Engineering College students at Arab Amman University, which played a pivotal role in the success of this event. These initiatives align with the university's directions to empower its students and provide a supportive environment that allows them to apply their knowledge in real situations, and to develop their leadership and community skills through participation in quality activities and initiatives.
