Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II and the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held a meeting in Aqaba, Saturday, focused on ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, and the most prominent developments in the region.
The meeting discussed the depth of the Jordanian-German relations, where His Majesty emphasized the keenness to expand cooperation in various fields, especially economic and defense, and to continue coordination to support efforts to achieve stability in the region.
The meeting also touched on the situation in Gaza, where His Majesty stressed the necessity of committing to implementing the war termination agreement in all its stages, and delivering humanitarian aid.
His Majesty also warned of the dangers of the ongoing Israeli escalation in the West Bank, and the assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
It was emphasized the necessity of finding a political horizon to achieve just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
The meeting also discussed the importance of supporting efforts for Syria and Lebanon to maintain their security, stability, and sovereignty, and respecting the security and sovereignty of the regional countries.
For his part, the German Chancellor expressed his country's eagerness to enhance cooperation with Jordan across different sectors, praising the Kingdom's efforts towards stability in the region.
Attended the meeting was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and the director of His Majesty's office, Alaa Batayneh.
