Khaberni - The Petra Region Development and Tourism Authority confirmed the absence of visitors at the archaeological site by the end of Saturday, aimed at ensuring their safety during the rainfall period and the impact of the prevailing weather conditions.
The Authority explained today, Saturday, that its specialized teams, in cooperation with security forces, conducted comprehensive field tours inside and around the archaeological site, to ensure all visitors had departed, with no outstanding cases, as part of preventive measures to deal with the emergent weather conditions and secure the tourists' exit from the site.
The Authority emphasized that it monitors weather developments around the clock, continues to implement approved emergency plans, urging citizens and visitors to comply with instructions issued by relevant authorities, and to avoid approaching valley courses and areas prone to flash floods.
It reaffirmed that the safety of citizens and visitors remains its top priority, appreciating the significant cooperation from everyone in adhering to the guidelines and precautionary measures.
