The investigative authorities in Cairo have referred blogger Mudahem to criminal trial, after he was caught red-handed possessing narcotics, along with accusations of posting obscene video clips on social media.
The suspect was arrested during a security campaign in the area of Al-Qanatir Al-Khayriyyah, where the search revealed local and foreign currency amounts, alongside gold items and several mobile phones. He was also found in possession of quantities of hashish and opium.
According to the investigations, Mudahem confessed that he had been publishing those clips to increase viewership and achieve financial gains through his online platforms, and admitted that the narcotics found in his possession were intended for use.
The accused was referred to the court in preparation for his trial on the charges attributed to him, as part of the legal proceedings taken to address the unregulated content and activities associated with the possession and use of narcotics.
