The national team's technical director Jamal Salami confirmed that the confrontations that bring together the national team and its Kuwaiti counterpart are always strong and difficult, expressing full readiness for the encounter.
Salami stated at a press conference before the last training session preparing for the encounter with Kuwait in the second round of the group stage in the Arab Cup, that the match will start 72 hours after the last game for Al-Nashama, which they won against the UAE with two goals to one.
He mentioned that over the past year, Jordan and Kuwait faced off in several matches which saw Jordan win once, while the teams settled for a draw in the other matches.
Salami considers the Kuwaiti team "respectable and strong" but the national team is confident and strong and is aiming to secure early qualification to the second round, especially with the presence of a supportive audience.
Regarding the World Cup draw, he confirmed that the players and the technical team will watch it together in a celebratory atmosphere, as Jordanians have been anticipating it for a while, hoping to make a good appearance in the 2026 World Cup.
Jordan leads Group Three of the tournament, with three points followed by the teams of Egypt and Kuwait with a single point, while the UAE team is at the bottom of the standings without points.
